The service

Kitchens — The Short Version.

A plain-English overview of what the DAB team delivers, who it's for and when it matters. No marketing filler.

What it is

Kitchen installation covers everything from stripping out the old kitchen, adjusting walls and services, first-fix plumbing and electrics, floor levelling, cabinet installation, worktop templating and fitting, tiling and splashbacks, appliance installation and commissioning, and full plaster and decoration. Supply-and-fit (we design and supply the units) or fit-only (you supply your own units, we install).

Who it's for

Homeowners refitting a kitchen after 10–15 years, buyers of new-build kitchens who want to upgrade the developer-spec, and renovation clients where the kitchen is the heart of the wider refurb.

When you need it

When the layout doesn't work for how you actually cook, when the worktops are scratched or scorched, when the doors are peeling, or when a new appliance you want (American fridge, integrated wine, induction hob) simply won't fit the old plan.

Why professional help matters

The reason bad kitchen installs look bad is that six trades usually touch the room — strip-out, plaster, plumber, electrician, fitter, tiler — and they rarely coordinate. One accountable contractor eliminates the gap where standards slip.

If it's left too long

What Goes Wrong When Nobody Fixes It.

The specific ways this job goes bad when it's ignored, DIY'd, or handed to the cheapest quote in the WhatsApp group.

Uneven cabinets and dropped worktops

A kitchen fitted onto an unlevelled floor or an out-of-plumb wall never really recovers. Doors don't line up, worktop joints open over time, and the whole room reads as sloppy.

Water damage under the sink

Bad silicone lines around sinks and hobs, or missed seals on quartz worktop joints, leak into cabinet carcasses. Two years in, the base units are swelling and rotten — cost to fix: half the kitchen.

Electrical breaches under counters

Sockets fitted too close to the hob or sink without Part P notification aren't just non-compliant — they're a fire and shock risk. Not the corner to cut in the room with the highest electrical density in the house.

Layouts that don't cook

A kitchen designed by a showroom rep who's never watched you cook often ends up wrong — hob and sink too far apart, fridge in the walking path, no landing space next to the oven. Layout is a design skill, not just a supplier's software output.

Our process

Five Steps. Zero Guesswork.

The exact system our team runs on every job — from your first message to the certificate in your handover pack.

  1. 1

    Design consultation

Site meeting, discussion of how you actually use the kitchen (who cooks, who eats where, appliance preferences, storage priorities), and initial layout options. CAD drawings and elevations if we're supplying the units.

  2. 2

    Fixed quote & programme

Itemised quote covering strip-out, walls, plumbing, electrics, cabinets, worktops, appliances, tiling and decoration. Programme with delivery dates and completion.

  3. 3

    Strip-out & first-fix

Old kitchen removed and disposed of, floor levelled, walls made good, first-fix plumbing (new hot-and-cold to sink, dishwasher, washing machine, ice-maker), first-fix electrics (sockets, hob supply, extract fan, downlights).

  4. 4

    Cabinet fit & worktop

Base and wall units installed level and plumb, doors adjusted, worktop templated (quartz, granite, Corian, laminate or solid wood) and returned by the stone mason, fitted and sealed. Splashbacks tiled.

  5. 5

    Appliance install & handover

Hob, oven, extractor, dishwasher, fridge-freezer connected and tested by our Gas Safe (where gas) and NICEIC electrician. Silicone lines snagged. Site cleaned. Handover pack with warranties and certificates.

Why hire the DAB team

Specific Wins. Not Vague Promises.

What you actually get when you hire us for this job — measurable, provable, and reflected in every one of our verified reviews.

  • One accountable contractor

Design, supply, install, tile, plaster, plumb and wire — all under one number. You never referee between the fitter and the tiler.

  • Levelled and plumb

Old kitchen floors and walls rarely are. We level substrate before the cabinets go on, so doors line up and worktops sit true.

  • Certified electrics and plumbing

Part P notification and Gas Safe compliance on every kitchen — certificates handed to you at completion.

  • Watertight sealing

Silicone joints around sinks, taps, hobs and worktop-to-wall junctions properly primed, applied and tooled — not a smear-and-hope approach.

  • Design-led layouts

Layouts that respect the classic kitchen 'work triangle' but adapted for open-plan reality — fridge-to-hob-to-sink placed for how you actually cook.

  • Fixed price

The number you sign is the number you pay, save for variations you approve in writing.

Deep detail

Materials, Methods & Where It Applies.

The specification-level answers the internet usually skips.

Supply-and-fit or fit-only

Supply-and-fit: we design the kitchen using our supplier network (rigid or flat-pack, painted timber, in-frame Shaker, high-gloss handle-less, contemporary slab) and install it. Fit-only: you supply cabinets from Howdens, Wren, DIY Kitchens, Magnet, IKEA or a bespoke maker, and we install to the same standard.

Worktop materials

Quartz composite (Silestone, Caesarstone, Compac) — most popular, seamless joints, low maintenance. Granite — traditional, natural veining. Corian and solid-surface acrylics — thermoformable, seamless. Solid oak or walnut for a warm classic look. Laminate for budget builds with modern edge finishes.

Sinks, taps and appliances

Undermount, inset or Belfast sinks; boiling-water taps (Quooker, Fohen) with dedicated cold water where specified; induction, gas, or dual-fuel hobs — the Gas Safe engineer in our trusted network handles gas connections. Extract fans ducted to external air where required by Building Regs, not recirculating.

Flooring and tiling

Engineered wood, LVT (Karndean, Amtico), porcelain tile, or full-body microcement — laid before cabinets where the design calls for it, or after where the design requires. Splashback tiling in ceramic, porcelain, glass, marble or metro.

Residential focus

Almost all our kitchen work is residential — one-off private kitchens designed for the household. Occasional commercial (café/small hospitality) fits where the client has a pre-existing plan; specification then follows commercial food-safety requirements.

FAQ

Kitchens — Straight Answers.

The questions we're asked at almost every survey. Not on the list? Call 07834 974462 — the DAB team is happy to talk it through.

How much does a new kitchen cost in Staines-upon-Thames?+

Fit-only for a typical mid-range kitchen (Howdens/Wren spec) usually £4k–£7k labour. Full supply-and-fit ranges widely: £15k–£25k for entry-mid, £25k–£45k for mid-premium, £45k+ for premium bespoke with quartz and premium appliances.

How long does a kitchen fit take?+

Fit-only: 5–10 working days depending on size and complexity. Full supply-and-fit including strip-out, plaster and tiling: 2–4 weeks. Quartz worktops add 5–10 days for templating and fabrication.

Can I stay in the house during the fit?+

Yes — most clients set up a temporary kitchen in the utility, dining room or garage. Cold-water and microwave usually workable throughout; hob and full cooking usually offline for the first week.

Do you handle appliance supply?+

Yes — we can supply appliances through trade accounts (typically 10–15% below RRP) or install client-supplied units. Either works. Warranties are transferred to you either way.

What if I already have the design done?+

We work happily to third-party designs from your kitchen supplier or interior designer. Or we design in-house — up to you.

Can you re-route plumbing to a new sink position?+

Yes — our plumber and Gas Safe engineer handle full re-plumb of a new kitchen layout including new sink positions, waste runs and gas hob connections.

How is a quartz worktop joined?+

Templated, laser-scanned or hand-templated on site, fabricated off-site, and returned in sections with mitred, epoxy-bonded seams. Correctly done, joins are invisible under normal light and completely watertight.

Where do you work?+

Kitchens across Staines-upon-Thames, Egham, Ashford, Chertsey, Sunbury-on-Thames, Weybridge, Windsor, Feltham and Kingston upon Thames.
